Sally Hansen Aquamarine Chrome

Like my previous post about Sally Hansen Tourmaline Chrome, this is another blast from the past: Aquamarine Chrome.

This is a lacquer I distinctly remember owning, and loving, nearly 15 years ago. As I lamented before, I wish I had held onto all my Chrome polishes! Nonetheless, after a trip to ebay, I now have several lovely Sally Hansen Chrome polishes to share with you. This is Sally Hansen Aquamarine Chrome, a deep metallic chrome blue (2 coats):

See how reflective it looks in this next picture?

While this has a somewhat similar finish to Models Own Dream Stream, it isn't quite as intense and vividly blue. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing- to me, this looks more chrome-like. It also doesn't stain like Models Own Dream Stream (word of warning- my nails are STILL hugely stained from Dream Stream, even after several changes of polish. Better double, or triple up on base coat!).

If you're looking for Sally Hansen Chrome polishes, this is the ebay listing through which I purchased mine (not affiliated), and I have no complaints about the service I received- everything arrived safely and in a reasonable time frame.

What do you think of Sally Hansen Aquamarine Chrome? Was this one in your stash years ago?

  6. Lovely blue. Sorry about the Model's Own staining :(. I hate when that happens. It makes me want to scrub my nails with lye or something. Lol.

    1. Thanks! And yeah, the staining is pretty bad. I've only been wearing darker colours since then in order to camouflage it. Hopefully it fades soon!

  7. That's really nice! Sorry about the MO staining, I don't recall it being too much of a pig but my base coat is pretty good at preventing staining (I use the nails inc caviar one, it's really thick and kind of non-porous).

    1. I've been using the Essie "all in one" base coat... I don't really have any complaints, but I wouldn't think of it as a heavy duty base coat. I think I'll have to look into the Nails Inc one- sounds like it would be worth it to prevent staining!

  8. This looks like a dupe for a really old Avon polish I have. Although it's almost done. So that makes me sort of, a bit sad.

    1. I'm not sure I've ever finished a whole polish before... well, if it does run out, maybe you can get this one as a replacement? ;)
