Nfu Oh Jelly Syrup (JS03) and HITS Glitter Forte 401

Today I have one of the new Nfu Oh Jelly Syrup polishes to show you- this is Nfu Oh JS03 (I really wish they would assign names to the Nfu Oh line- it would be much easier to keep everything straight!). Nfu Oh JS03 is a light clean-looking dove grey in a jelly formula. At two coats, as seen below, it is still a little sheer and squishy. With a third coat, it would likely be opaque. Overall, I'm very happy with it, and love the idea of a squishy jelly grey polish- it's quite unique!

Then I decided to layer HITS Glitter Forte 401 (a fine black glitter) overtop... I'm not so crazy about the result. The HITS 401 base is slightly tinted, so it changed the Nfu Oh to a muddier, darker grey. I think next time I'll try this glitter by itself.

While I applied 401 quite sparsely on my fingernails, on the thumb nail you can really see how dense it can be applied (this was one thick coat of HITS 401).

...and then I mucked it all up by trying to make a jelly sandwich with another coat of Nfu Oh JS03 overtop of the black glitter. I thought it would make for a good layering jelly, but not so much! Maybe I'll try it with another glitter and see if I have a better result.

What do you think of this Nfu Oh Jelly Syrup polish? Any insights about my jelly sandwich fail with HITS 401?

Nfu Oh 60 (layered over Quo by Orly Night Sky)

Nfu Oh 60 consists of multicoloured flakes in an black jelly base. It's dark and murky, and unlike the other Nfu Oh flakey polishes, the jelly base almost seems to obscure the flakes. Despite that, it's actually a neat effect, and I think it makes a nice companion to Quo by Orly's "Night Sky"lacquer. Night Sky lends a purplish cast to the Nfu Oh which is interesting.

In the bottle it looks really cool- kind of like a crystallized oil slick. Here is how it looks on the nail:

The flakes flash orange, gold, green, and red in the sun.

I feel like I should put this on around Halloween- wouldn't it make a good spooky polish?

Finally, I want to show you my order from Llarowe, which just arrived. I'm pretty excited to try out my new lacquers, and tomorrow I'll have Apolo, from the HITS No Olimpo collection to show you.

Left to right these are A-England's Ascalon and St. George, Ozotic 505 and 507, HITS No Olimpo Dionisio and Apolo. The last two are not from Llarowe, but are recent purchases. One is Cling On from the China Glaze Magnetix collection, and the other is Liquid Crystal from the new Prismatic collection. Is there any one in particular you'd like to see?

Nfu Oh 63 and Holographic Domo Awesomeness

Okay, before I get to the good stuff, let me show you some other good stuff. I wanted to show you Essie's Too Too Hot. Not terribly fond of the name, absolutely love the colour. It's a wonderfully squishy and glossy looking jelly/creme red. It's a red I can wholeheartedly love. And I'm wearing it on my toes right now. Don't worry though, I know some are squeamish about toe pictures, so I swatched it on my fingers for you! This is two coats of Essie's Too Too Hot.

Now, onto the holo goodness. In my experience, Nfu Oh produces the most amazing linear (as opposed to a more "scattered" holographic sparkle) polishes available. They can be a pain to apply, so I'd recommend waiting a long time between coats of polish otherwise you'll just end up with bald patches. Without further ado, this is Nfu Oh 63, and beautiful pink/lavender holographic masterpiece:

That was 3 coats of Nfu Oh 63, no topcoat, in direct sunlight. This is how Nfu Oh 63 looks in normal indoor lighting:

And two more pictures of Nfu Oh 63, in sunlight, but this time with topcoat:

While I've heard some say that topcoat will dampen the holographic effect, I couldn't detect that it did. And the two pictures with topcoat look just as holographic to me as the ones without. What do you think?

Well, that's all for today's post... but wait, what's this?

It's a holographic sparkle Domo! And it turns out that he likes holographic lacquer, too!

                                              "Why hello there, ladies!"

It turns out that Sparkle Domo loves Nfu Oh holographic polishes. And who can blame Domo? They do have the prettiest bottles.

"Well, all right, OPI and China Glaze holos can come too! Yay!"

                                            "All hail the Domo overlord!"
