Essence - Glamorous Life

I have a quick post for today- a swatch of the polish I'm currently wearing as a pedicure colour, Essence Glamorous Life. Glamorous Life is a new-ish lacquer from Essence (it came out earlier this spring, but may still be around). It's a bright, raspberry colour with tonnes of gorgeous pink/purple glass fleck shimmer in a jelly finish. It's opaque in two coats, and applied beautifully for a polish that only costs $1.49.

It's also worth mentioning that I love the brush on Essence polishes. Usually smaller bottles have annoying little brushes that are hard to paint with, but these have nice long ones that are very flexible... I find them very comfortable to use, and can't actually think of another brand that uses the same brush. Does anyone else have an opinion to share on the Essence brushes?

I don't know how similar this would be to Butter London Disco Biscuit, but it has kind of killed my lemming for that lacquer (which is a good thing, because it costs a heck of lot more than this Essence polish). While it's probably a lot more raspberry coloured than the hot pink of Disco Biscuit, it still has a gorgeous glass fleck which I adore.

What do you think of Essence Glamorous Life? Have you tried Essence polishes? What do you think of them?

  1. I like how punchy and bright this color is! I've never tried essence since the ULTA in NYC is a bit far. If only they were sold in drugstores!

    1. Aww, they aren't in drugstores in the US? In Canada they can be found in Shopper's Drugmart, which is pretty much everywhere. Well, if you do find them somewhere, I'd recommend trying them out- it's hard to go wrong with them because they're so cheap.

    2. No, they're not :( I always keep my eyes peeled for them since the swatches always look so great!

    3. Are there any in particular you're looking for? I can always keep my eyes open around here for them, and if you like, I can send them your way!

  2. Oh, it's lovely - with the ton of shimmer it sound like it might be a sibling of "Choose Me"!

    1. Perhaps- although the shimmer in this is finer, and there isn't a duochrome effect that Choose Me has... it's still gorgeous though!

    1. Agreed- especially when most of the drugstore polishes are costing a lot more than that these days. I think the quality is good, too!

  4. I have Disco Biscuit (I love the name on that one), and this doesn't look anything like it to me >.< But I am glad this polish helped defeat your desire for the more expensive Butter London!

    1. Awww, lol, so much for my theory! How would you describe Disco Biscuit? Am I right in thinking it's more of a hot pink than a berry pink? And is it shimmer or fine glitter in Disco Biscuit?
