This polish is incredibly sparkly- my nails were like little disco balls. The purple glitter is very subtle in this, so it's not always readily noticeable unless you're looking for it, but I do like the added complexity it adds. The combination of pale gold with lilac is gorgeous.
I wasn't totally sure if this would be completely opaque by itself (I have a feeling that it would be opaque at around 3 coats), so I layered two coats of Big Money over two coats of another Sally Hansen polish- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Time to Shine. Here it is before the addition of Big Money:
Time to Shine is a lovely champagne gold, with a touch of what looks like rose-gold pigment thrown in. Very smooth and sparkly, foil-like in finish. It's almost a perfect match for Big Money, and they look seamless together. Even though I got this last summer/fall, I've still been seeing displays with this on it in drugstores, so you should still be able to get your hands on it. I've mentioned it before, but I love the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear line- they're great polishes for cheap.
What do you think of the new Sally Hansen Gem Crush polishes? Have you, or will you be picking any of them up?
Oh, and just because I find this hilarious, here's a video compiling all of Nicholas Cage's "best" scenes the movie "The Wicker Man". I actually sat here trying to think of an appropriate segue into this, but there really isn't any way to link this to my current post. It's just really, really funny. Enjoy!
The first nail polish is very unique. Very sparkly and the tiny purple dots. Wow. But your remark about your nails looking a disco ball is so true. Lol. Maybe when I'm feeling like a diva and I need to rock a party, I'll give it a shot. Nice review :) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a great party polish- very glittery and reflective. Thank you for commenting!
DeleteI really like the Gem Crush polishes! I didn't pick up any of the China Glaze Eye Candy collection, so I chose to grab a few of these instead and I love them! I didn't get Big Money though, but now I wish I would have.
ReplyDeleteI was a bit surprised by how much I liked this one- the effect is very gem encrusted, even though there isn't a lot of contrast between the pale purple glitter and the pale gold glitter.
DeleteI love how blingtastic this is!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Have you tried any of the Gem Crush polishes?
DeleteOh gorgeous shimmer. Hey, I've seen that movie. Quite a twist in the end right?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've ever watched it right through to the end- but every time I watch this youtube clip I think I should, because it must be hilarious. ;)
DeleteI love the bits of purple glitter! Oh, what a horrible movie! Lol!
ReplyDeleteLol- yeah, Nick Cage has some really facepalm-worthy moments.
