Layla Bubble Effect in Black Forest

Today I've got one of the Layla Bubble Effect polishes to share with you- this is Black Forest, a polish very similar to OPI's Black Spotted lacquer (which was exclusive to Europe, if I understand correctly). In terms of application, I applied this as I would a shatter topcoat: I used one medium coat, applied it quickly and evenly, and then I stopped fussing with it. The end result was this oil-on-water kind of effect. The base colour is SpaRitual Quietness

I also layered this over Man Glaze's Butt Taco (oh, that name...) which I think provided a more striking effect.

What do you think of Layla Bubble Effect in Black Forest? Think it would quell any lemming for the hard-to-procure OPI Black Spotted? If so, and you're wondering where you can order it, you can find it at Nail Polish Canada, which is where I ordered mine from.

    1. Absolutely- maybe it has to do with the matte finish on the orange base colour? It looks more like Black Spotted, that's for sure.

  2. I agree with Arletta on the three last - nah, I'm not having any of them as lemmings :)

    1. I'm curious about how the bubble effect would look in other colours- maybe not curious enough to order, but something to think about!

  3. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about these yet :P But I love how it looks over Quietness.

    1. Thanks! It definitely looks different over Quietness than over the Man Glaze polish. I think I prefer the latter, but it also looks kind of neat over the SpaRitual.

  5. Great for Halloween, you could layer this over anything! I would layer it over a really dense, and sparkly glitter.

    1. I wouldn't have thought about layering it over a glitter- good idea!

  6. Cool beans! I kind of just wanted to try the cutepolish way of achieving the look with hand sanitizer and water though :) I'm uneasy by the chemicals they use in these types of polish.

    1. Ohh, I did see that when Kas posted about it- looks pretty cool. And I'm not informed about these chemicals- what's the deal?

  7. Oh, you could also put this UNDER a light colored jelly and see what happens.
