Go Ginza reminds me a little bit of OPI Steady As She Rose, or maybe OPI Panda-monium Pink. It has the same dusty/greyed out finish as Steady As She Rose has (one of my all-time favourite polishes, by the way), and straddles the line between pale pink and lavender. Very pretty! The formula was a little runny and hard to work with, but covered in two coats.
Maximillian Strasse Her is a light greyed out pale green creme; the formula on this was better than Go Ginza, easy to work with and perfect in two coats. While this reminds me a bit of Essie Absolutely Shore, this is definitely a deeper and murkier shade; more in the army green category than the pastel one.
This collection kind of popped up out of nowhere- I hadn't even heard of it, then happened to see it at a Walgreen's. Which, by the way, you might be surprised to hear seeing as how there are no Walgreen's in Canada. How, then? Because for the last week I've been here:
It's been awesome, and I'm fully prepared to leave my heart in San Francisco.
What do you think of these shades from the Essie Spring 2013 Collection? Are you planning on picking any of them up?
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI think these really are the first I have seen from this collection - and unfortunately they have that dusty feel, that I do not feel suits my skin...
ReplyDeleteThat's alright, that way there are more lovely muted and dusty cremes for me! ;) I'm not even sure if this finish looks particularly good on me, but I love them either way!
DeleteThose are both pretty! And I'm going to guess you are missing winter like crazy right now ;)
ReplyDeleteHah, it was glorious while it lasted, but now I'm back home and freezing. *sigh* Why do I live here, again?
Deletethose are so pretty! i love pastels! Ooh i LOVE san francisco! it is so much fun
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is that! I had a blast there- gorgeous city!
DeleteWhat'd you think of SF? We've had pretty nice weather the last week so it was a good time! What'd you do there??
ReplyDeleteThe weather was amazing! A touch of rain one day, but the rest of the time it was sunny and clear and quite warm during the day. We saw a few things: the Hamburg Ballet performing Nijinsky at the Opera House, Rob Schneider doing stand-up at Cobb's Comedy Club, and we also caught a night tour of Alcatraz (so, so, very creepy!). In addition to that, we mostly wandered around, checked out a few museums, and enjoyed the amazing food! I think that might be my favourite thing- the very fresh and delicious (and mostly reasonably priced) food. Awesome.
DeleteI haven't seen any of the essie spring till now! These are some cool colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you like them!
Deleteoh San Francisco looks beautiful! Maximillian Strasse Her is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lydz! And it definitely was!
DeleteLove the grey green, wow. Sophisticated color.
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's definitely the most sophisticated green in my collection. :D
DeleteI want Go Ginza so much!! *_*
ReplyDeleteIt's really gorgeous! And versatile, too- a good staple to have in your collection!
DeleteBought the maximillian today. It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it! I think it's pretty perfect for spring- a nice way to wear greens, without it being too over-bearing. Maximillian is practically a neutral!
