Man Glaze Santorum

I thought "Santorum" by Man Glaze would be a fitting polish to post on the day Rick Santorum announced his withdrawal from the Republican leadership race. Man Glaze exclusively produces matte polishes. This was my first time trying Man Glaze, and I have to admit I was drawn in not because I'm crazy about matte polishes, but because of the hilarious name choices and awesome coordinating labels for each lacquer. That said, I'm very happy with how this lacquer looks on the nail. This is two coats (although it was nearly perfect in one) of Santorum:

This is a matte brown polish with lots of shimmer, including subtle red and green shimmer. Yes, this is a brown polish called Santorum. I'm preferring to think this was solely inspired by the colour of Rick Santorum's brown sweater vest (LOL), and not that other association with Santorum. Ahem. Moving on... Man Glaze also references one of my favourite movies in a quote on the label:

"For Relaxing Times, Make it SANTORUM Time"

I love Bill Murray, and the whole movie is pretty great. If you missed out on Lost in Translation, definitely check it out.

Finally I'll leave you with a couple photos of Santorum with a topcoat. I might actually prefer it this way, it really brings out the tiny red and green shimmer and shows how much depth this polish has.

What do you think of Man Glaze Santorum? I ordered my polishes from Man Glaze's Amazon store, but be sure to check out Man Glaze's website for other ordering options.

  1. That's a really interesting color, the shimmer is great both in matte and glossy...

    1. Yeah, I'm so happy with how much the shimmer stands out! I can't stand flat mattes, so this is perfect. Love that shimmer.

  2. Man Glaze WINS at making mattes. I didn't even know about this one. It looks creamy and smooth. Looooove.

    1. Man Glaze rocks my world when it comes to mattes! I'm used to the difficult formula on the OPI suedes. This is soooo much better. Better than most regular polish formulas, actually. This was so easy to control, and almost good in one coat. Love it!

    1. Lol, I almost got Fuck Off and Dye purely for the name! What colour is it, anyways? Might still get it. ;)

    2. It's a shimmery hot pink :) The name is awesome, and it's such a pretty matte! But this brown is freaky sexy, I dig it!

    3. Hmm, I wonder how Fuck Off and Dye (LOL, feels so silly writing that out) compares to Lesbihonest, which is also a shimmery hot pink.

    4. I feel like Lesbihonest might be a darker pink? Or more purple. It'd be nice to see a comparison now that you mention it, too bad I don't have Lesbihonest (yet!)

    5. I'll do a swatch of it soon- maybe that will give us an idea of how it compares.

    3. LOL. Haha, I don't mind if you blow up my comments section- especially when you're giving such useful information. Such as the 10% off code... hmmm.... so very tempting. And I can't wait to see your swatches of Santorum! You won't be disappointed, it's pretty awesome in person. Did you order anything else?

  5. I love their names, haha. Does the label actually give an explanation of "Santorum"? Bc that would be hilarious...Btw, I nominated you for "The Versatile Blogger" award, details are posted on my blog.

    1. LOL, not exactly, but they do make further reference to it on the back of the label. You can see it in these swatches: http://captivatingclaws.blogspot.ca/2012/01/manglaze-santorum.html

And thank you so much for the award! I really appreciate it. :D
