HITS No Olimpo - Apolo

Apolo is the first lacquer from the HITS No Olimpo collection I've had the pleasure to try. It is a stunning ocean blue holographic. It has tons of depth, and is very bright and perfectly opaque at two coats.

It's even better in real life, believe me. Incredibly vibrant and holographic, and it just looks... deep... like I could swim in it. Now theres a strange scene to envision. Anyways, even in low lighting it is obviously holographic, which is something I can't say about the China Glaze OMG holos.

Formula wise, it's a bit goopy to apply, and tricky to get in the right spots. On the upside, wear time was somewhat better than other holographic polishes I've tried, closer to what a normal polish wears on me.

Now there's something else I have to mention about this bottle of lacquer...

The incredibly, bizarrely, wonky brush. Look at it! Yikes. I've never had a brush this wonky before. It was like trying to paint my nails with a mop. I so hope that Dionisio doesn't have the same trouble.

In summary: wonky brush, stunningly beautiful ocean blue holo that I positively want to swim in. Eh, the effort was well worth it. Still... that brush... *shudder*

  1. EWWW, I knew I shouldn't look, it's too gorgeous hahaha But the brush, seriously, wooow...
Maybe you can cut it back to shape, have you considered that, if it's the same strands of hair that stands out every time?
Or you could move the polish into an empty bottle with a nice brush...

    1. I'm thinking I'll try to trim it the next time I use it. Although even beyond the weird bristles, the brush felt kind of like a mop. It wasn't stiff enough- it was too floppy to move the polish around adequately. Despite that, I still love the colour and dimension this has! I'll be eager to see if Dionisio is the same.

  3. Love the color but the brush is ridiculous (especially for the price of Hits polishes!). You need to complain and get a free bottle sent to make up for that, LOL.

    1. Not to mention that the bottle only holds a tiny amount of lacquer... at the price point, you'd think they'd include a decent brush. ;) Oh well, maybe this is just a rare occurrence.

  4. I really want that colour. It's stunning. It's a shame the brush looks like a cat chewed on it.

    1. It looks like something gnawed on it, for sure. :P It might just be worth it, though. I don't think I quite managed to capture just how vibrant this colour is.

  5. Great color! I would send that picture to the company. They should see that! Also, they might send you a replacement!

  6. My brush on Hera wasn't nearly that bad. Wow. I think I saw something on their facebook page about giving out replacement brushes.

    1. Which Facebook page, may I ask? I wasn't sure if I should try to contact Hits directly (I know they're a Brazilian company- I'm not sure how to reach them), or if I should just contact Llarowe.
