Essie Jazz

Essie Jazz falls firmly into the category of putty-ish neutrals, although in certain lighting I do see it leaning decidedly more taupe and less beige than the photos you'll see here (this is 2 coats of Essie Jazz):



Right now I'm wearing Essie Jazz on my toenails and absolutely loving it- this is a surprise to me, because I'd always been of the opinion that bright, punchy colours were pedicure colours, and definitely not fleshy-toned neutrals. Well, I've changed my tune on that! I should credit Stephanie at Short N Chic for converting me to this school of thought, because after seeing her write blog posts about how wonderful neutral tones are on toenails I finally gave it a try myself! I'm so glad I did.

Do you like to wear neutrals on your toes? Or do you reserve them exclusively for your fingernails?

Finally, I'll leave you with another kind of "jazz"-  a tune by Miles Davis. This is one of my very favourite pieces of music...

    Pretty nude. I don't wear nudes on my toes. I like to wear bright colors...mostly reds!

      I always felt the same way- lots of red and bright colours... but now I've changed my tune! Definitely give a neutral pedicure a chance, you might unexpectedly like it (I know I was pleasantly surprised!).

    Mmm reminds me of toffee :) I don't have many nudes, let alone have I tried them on my toesies. I shall consider this for the future. Nice song too, I feel very classy listening to it haha

      Hehe, toffee! Now I'm looking at my toes like they might be tasty. LOL.

      Glad you like the song! I love listening to it while winding down in the evening. It's very smooth, and easy to just chill out to.

    Ooh I think that is a great take on a nude. Definitely something more different than a pink/pastel colour. Loving it! Plus you paint your nails so perfectly! :)

      Aww, thank you! That's such a nice compliment. I swear, it took my about 2 years of being a nail fanatic to finally be able to paint my nails without needing serious clean up afterward. I'm glad you're liking this nude- I definitely recommend it!

    I hate my feet so I always use neutrals on the toes - I don't want them to grab attention with brights!

      Haha, that's one way to look at it! Last summer I was sporting a really bright neon blue on my toes for awhile and I could always tell people were staring at them... that did make me a little bit self conscious after awhile! :P
